Road → 50 miles
50k PR set with 30k still to run
2026
I was given Jan’s coaching details by a friend as we had both signed up to take part in the North Downs Way 50 miles in 2024. Although I had quite a few road miles under my belt, I was still relatively inexperienced on the trails, so I sought out Jan’s help. Jan was able to create a plan that was manageable and that fitted into a busy working week. All of the runs were brilliantly planned and helped me prepare for the end goal of finishing the event. Furthermore, Jan’s expert knowledge meant that I was able to make the transition from road to trail with ease. Any question I had was easily answered by Jan; no matter how small my concern, she was able to help me. By the time I started the event I felt prepared physically and mentally. Through Jan’s coaching, I achieved my first 50 mile event, well within the cut off time. I learned so much about my body’s capabilities that day. Something that was only possible with Jan’s support.

I was really pleased with my result, but it wasn’t long before l heard the call of the South Downs and before I knew it I had a place at the South Downs Way 50 miles in 2026. Once again, Jan created a bespoke plan that fitted around my life and my commitments. Jan was able to build my endurance back up very quickly and by the time I had finished my training block I was filled with energy and raring to go. Inevitably, the nerves set in and Jan was there, two days before the event, reassuring me and talking me through the course. That meant that on the day of the event, I was surprisingly peaceful and calm, as I was confident that I would finish and that I was going to have a great day. I felt strong and ran much faster than I could have expected, setting a PR in 50k, despite having another 30k to go. Jan helped me to achieve an even better time in a super long distance.

Jan taps into your potential and turns the impossible into the possible. Jan makes hard things very achievable and she gives you the confidence to outdo yourself.
